Karen Svensson Olavarria has been working as an art curator since 2017. During this time, she founded and ran her own art gallery. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the gallery was forced to close. This, however, opened the door to new opportunities. Today, Karen works independently, collaborating with a range of cultural organizations and institutions, primarily in the south of Sweden, where she curates significant and engaging exhibitions.

Karen has a broad and contemporary understanding of art management. Her work focuses particularly on supporting artists who deserve greater visibility and recognition. Alongside curating exhibitions, she coaches artists and provides guidance on professional development, project management, and navigating the art world.

Her experience as a host and guide at Moderna Museet, combined with her studies in Art History, Visual Studies, and Cultural Administration, has given her a strong foundation in both the practical and theoretical aspects of the arts. She brings an honest, personal, and professional approach to her relationships with artists, curators, gallerists, and cultural institutions.

Karen lives in the south of Sweden, but her passion for art knows no borders. She is always open to new collaborations and opportunities, wherever in the world they may lead.
